This is the most popular immigration program through which you can move to Canada and it has issued over 108,000 ITAs in 2021 and will even issue more in 2022 and it is one of the fastest program as it has a processing time that is as short as six months.

The Express Entry System is an online program where you are expected to create an online profile and fill in the requirements for the program. These requirements are:

  • Work experience

  • Language proficiency

Once you have started your profile, you will be expected to complete it within 60 days and after which you will be placed in a pool with other applicants and a draw will be conducted.

This draw is done twice in a month and here, applicants will be ranked against a cut-off score using the Comprehensive Ranking System. In this system, a score will be given to applicants of the Express Entry System that are in the pool and these scores are based on the requirements you filled in your online profile and with the score given, it will be matched against a CRS cut-off score and applicants that meet or exceed the CRS cut-off score will get an Invitation to Apply for permanent residency in Canada.

One interesting thing about the Express Entry System is that you don’t need a job offer to be eligible for the program and also the Express Entry Draws are done twice in a month so you can participate in another draw of you were not successful in the first draw you participated in. all you will have to do is improve you CRS score so as to increase your chances of being selected.

You can improve your CRS score by getting more work experience as a data analyst, securing a job in Canada or including your spouse or partner or also having a family member in Canada.

Well, the Express Entry System has three federal immigration streams under it and as a firefighter; you can apply through one of these streams. The federal streams are:

  • Federal Skilled Trades Program

If you want to apply for permanent residency through the PNPs, you have two options for you and they are:

  • Direct application process

You will have to apply by paper and submit your application through a mail or courier service if you are going through this process and you should know that going through this application process is going to take about 15 to 19 months for your application result.

  • Express Entry Linked to PNP

For the Expression of interest, you are showing interest in a particular province when you are creating your online profile in the Express Entry System and this will allow the province see that you are serious about coming to the province and it will select your profile directly from the Express Entry Pool.

For the Provincial Nominee Express Entry Stream, you will be applying for and occupation in-demand in the province and sure firefighters are among the occupations in demand like we have mentioned earlier.
